- Chris Lemek 2010 Ft. Madison City Champion
Chris Lemek shot a 9 under par 63 at Spring Lake Golf Course to win the Open Division of the Ft. Madison City Tournament by one stroke over Jim Butler. Tom Tincher won the Senior, 60 and Over Division by 11 strokes over second place finisher, Jim Lemek. The golfers played 18-holes at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course on Saturday and 18-holes at Spring Lake on Sunday. Here are the results.

Spring Lake Golf Course, in Ft. Madison, held a 4 person best shot tournament with an 8 inch cup on Saturday, August 21. The team of Engen, Schowalter, Louck and McMillan shot a 21 under par 51 to take first place. Here are the rest of the results.

The Senior tournament scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course, has been canceled because of rain and rescheduled for Wednesday , August 25.

Flint Hills Municapal Golf Course hosted the annual Burlington City Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, August 7 & 8. Doug Keisel won his first title with a score of 144, four shots better than Alex Gaudian, who finished second. Craig Broeg won the Senior “I” Division and Merle Tisor won the Senior “II” Division. The Burlington Golf Club held several tournaments lately. Tom and Jill Blackwood won the Husband-Wife tournament, Lynn Egan and Marianne Briggs won the Two Ladie alternate shot and the team of Rick Hall, Larry Taylor, Mike McCoy and Carl Hayes won the Member-Member tournament. Green Acres Golf Course, in Donnellson, held their annual Men’s Club Championship over the weekend. Brock Umthun pared the second hole of a sudden death play-off to defeated Rod Calvert for the Championship. The Championship and Presidential flights played 45 holes and all other flights played 36 holes.
